Urban infrastructure resilience is a key indicator of sustainability and security. Today, the Internet of Things (IoT), through its extensive network of smart sensors and real-time connectivity, plays a crucial role in strengthening infrastructure resilience. This study analyzes the impact of IoT on the resilience of urban infrastructures using a case study approach involving three major Iranian cities: Tehran, Isfahan, and Mashhad. Data were gathered through documentation analysis, expert interviews, and technical assessment of smart systems. Results indicate that IoT reduces infrastructure vulnerability by enabling real-time monitoring, failure prediction, smart energy management, and hazard pattern detection. Moreover, IoT enhances emergency response speed, reduces maintenance costs, and supports preventive planning. The study concludes that deploying IoT is a strategic necessity for building resilient future cities and should be integrated into macro-level urban policies.
